The charming town of Warrington is located on the banks of the River Mersey, a position which has given the town prominence since it was founded in the Roman era. The town enjoys a rich cultural history, you can still see the pit-marks from civil war cannons in the walls of the parish church today.

Station information

Warrington Bank Quay is one of two stations that serve the town centre. It offers a north-south service on the West Coast Mainline with services running into London, Birmingham and Scotland. A regular regional express service operates between Manchester, Chester and North Wales and there is a local electric service to Liverpool.

The station’s best known landmark is the huge Unilever detergent manufacturing plant which overlooks the site.
