Strengthening our team to support community rail projects, volunteers and partners
North Cheshire Community Rail Partnership is delighted to welcome Danilo Cuccato as our new Projects Co-ordinator and Partnership Administrator.
Danilo joins us as we expand our programme of community-focused projects across North Cheshire, Halton and Warrington. His experience will strengthen our approach to project planning and delivery. In addition, he will support our volunteers and help us work effectively with collaborating partners.
Together, we want to turn grassroots ideas into successful projects that make a positive difference to local communities.
Bringing project experience to community rail
Danilo is a project professional with 13 years of experience. His career spans academic research, engineering, safety and project management.
In his most recent role, Danilo coordinated projects across a portfolio of industrial partnerships. His work included project planning, resource allocation, stakeholder relationships and administrative support. Therefore, he brings valuable experience to his new role with the Partnership.
Danilo also has first-hand experience of community involvement. Since moving to Liverpool in 2023, he has supported community projects and local initiatives. For example, he has volunteered with a local food bank and led volunteer initiatives within his parish.
As a result, Danilo combines professional project management skills with practical volunteering experience. Both will support our community-focused approach to rail.
Supporting our communities and volunteers
North Cheshire Community Rail Partnership works with communities, volunteers, local authorities, rail organisations and other partners. Together, we explore how railways and stations can contribute positively to the places they serve.
Our work focuses on four strategic themes.
Stations in Their Place
Connecting stations to community identity and helping create welcoming, safe and vibrant gateways to our towns and villages.
Affordable Access and Promotion
Encouraging sustainable travel choices, improving awareness of affordable rail travel and helping make journeys accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Health, Well-being and Inclusion
Creating opportunities for volunteering, supporting community wellbeing and reaching people who may otherwise face barriers to participation or travel.
Research, Education and Heritage
Working with schools, colleges, universities and communities to encourage learning, develop opportunities and preserve the social and economic stories of our railways.
Danilo’s role will support projects across all four themes. His project management experience will help us set clear objectives, plan resources and bring people together to deliver projects successfully.
Turning grassroots ideas into successful projects
Collaboration sits at the heart of community rail. However, a good idea is only the beginning.
Projects need planning, communication, resources and support to deliver lasting benefits. Danilo will help provide that structure as Projects Co-ordinator and Partnership Administrator.
At the same time, he will support the volunteers and partners who bring local knowledge, ideas and experience to our work.
His appointment also gives us greater capacity to manage projects and programmes effectively. As we grow, we want to maintain a professional approach while keeping community voices at the centre of our work.
Danilo is excited to bring his project experience and enthusiasm for community development to the Partnership. In particular, he looks forward to helping turn grassroots initiatives into successful projects with a positive community impact.

For us, this means creating stronger connections between our railways and the communities they serve. It also means listening to local people, supporting volunteers and working closely with our partners.
Through this collaboration, we can develop projects that contribute to our communities socially, economically and environmentally.
As North Cheshire Community Rail Partnership continues to grow, Danilo’s appointment gives us more capacity to turn our ambitions into practical projects.
