Connecting Ellesmere Port with Liverpool and the wider Merseyrail network
Ellesmere Port Station serves the busy Cheshire town and plays a key role in linking the local community with the wider rail network. Originally part of the through Hooton to Helsby line, it is now served by regular Merseyrail trains on the Wirral Line, along with occasional Northern Trains services to Helsby via Ince and Elton. Merseyrail services typically use platform 1, while Northern services operate from platform 2.
Staff are available on weekday mornings and early afternoons, with a ticket vending machine available outside these hours. The station is also within walking distance of the National Waterways Museum, where visitors can explore the fascinating history of Britain’s canal network.
This station offers a degree of step-free access to the platform, which may be in one or both directions. Some areas may require ramps or involve limited access depending on direction of travel.
Staff available Monday to Friday from 06:05 to 14:00. Outside these times, please use the ticket vending machines before boarding.
