A heritage station serving the heart of the village and surrounding countryside
Helsby Station connects this Cheshire village with key destinations across the North West and North Wales. Positioned on both the Chester–Warrington line and the Hooton–Helsby branch, it’s a valuable part of the local rail network and a useful stop for commuters and leisure travellers alike. The Grade II listed station building rreflects Helsby’s rich rail history, and, together with the station gardens, has significant potential for local community engagement.
Most services are operated by Transport for Wales, with hourly trains running between Chester and Manchester Airport, as well as Chester and Liverpool Lime Street. These routes combine to provide an off-peak frequency of two trains per hour in each direction. Limited services by Northern Trains also operate at peak times, connecting passengers to Leeds via Manchester Victoria and to Ellesmere Port.
Platform 1 is accessible from the car park. Platforms 2, 3 and 4 can only be accessed via stairs on the footbridge.
