Welcome to Hooton Station

A key interchange with excellent connections and facilities in South Wirral

Hooton Station is a busy and well-connected stop on the Merseyrail Wirral Line, serving the communities of Hooton and Willaston. Located just north of Chester and south-west of Liverpool, it acts as a key junction between the Chester to Liverpool route and the Ellesmere Port branch. With strong transport links and a large park and ride facility, it remains a popular choice for commuters travelling to Birkenhead, Liverpool and beyond.

The station is easy to reach from Junction 5 of the M53 and via the A550 from north-east Wales. It offers modern facilities, including accessible toilets and new waiting rooms, and is a convenient starting point for exploring Wirral Country Park. With recent upgrades, Hooton has become a welcoming, accessible station that supports both everyday journeys and leisure travel.
