A convenient link to central Ellesmere Port and the wider Merseyrail network
Overpool Station serves the central area of Ellesmere Port and provides an important connection on the Hooton to Helsby line. Opened in 1988, it became part of the Merseyrail network in 1994 following the electrification of the branch from Hooton, which introduced direct services to Liverpool via Birkenhead.
Although unstaffed and modest in size, Overpool offers a simple and dependable link for local residents travelling into Ellesmere Port, Chester or further afield through the Merseyrail network.
